Ghana Microfinance Institutions Network (GHAMFIN) is a network of Non-Bank Financial Institutions’ Association, Microfinance Associations (MFAs) and member financial institutions (Els) engaged in the provision of financial and non-financial services. The Network provides common platform to share information, innovation, best practices and undertakes industry advocacy for and on behalf of members in areas of governance, operations, regulations, human capital development and sustainability, among others.
The Bank of Ghana in ensuring the implementation of sections 56 and 92(1) of the Banks and Specialized Deposit-Taking Institutions Act (Act B30) issued directives on Corporate Governance for the effective management of Regulated Financial Institutions (RFrs). In the Business Rules and Sanctions for Microfinance Institutions, (Rule 24) strongly recommends Capacity Training for Directors and Key Management Staff.
The 21st Century Microfinance practice in respect to happenings within the financial sector, have called for the strengthening of the human capacities. GHAMFIN’s theme to achieve this feat is “Skillful Human Resources for a new Era of Microfinance in Ghana”
